CRAZINESS Alert!

Dear Concordia Family,

Recently, our day school, with the support of our church council and elders, decided to engage with Chuck Evans, the founder of Better Schools, a consulting firm that works with private schools.  Chuck has been principal and “head of school” in both Virginia and Texas and has served as a teacher, leader, and consultant for more than twenty-five years.  Chuck’s stellar record speaks for itself.  To top it off, Chuck is also a member of a thriving Lutheran congregation in south Austin!

We decided to engage Chuck’s help because we believe that, with Chuck’s help, our school can be better and reach more people than ever in our community. Already, his insights into marketing, staffing, and funding have been vital.

Unfortunately, some unfounded rumors have been circulating that we are engaging Chuck because our school is either in trouble or even on the brink of closing down.  Let me say this as clearly as I can:  these rumors are unequivocally false.  Under Sally McBee’s leadership, our school has made great strides.  Our robotics club, our new math curriculum, and our thriving Gifted, Talented, and Enrichment program are just a few of the examples of how our school is seeking to reach more kids in more ways than ever before.

Our engagement with Chuck is not because we are having problems, but because we are seeking to become even stronger.  Our goal is to have a school that provides not only this generation with a Christ-centered education, but also provides the same for many generations to come.

Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”  Concordia Lutheran School is in great shape.  But imagine what greater things might be in store for us as we continue to seek good and Godly counsel?  Chuck gives us just this kind of counsel.

I pray for Concordia’s ministries, including our day school, daily.  My request is that you do too.  I would also ask that, if you hear any of these unfounded and false rumors that our school is somehow in trouble or is shutting down, you would share with those from whom you hear these rumors the truth and ask them to pass along to others the truth as well.  You can even share this letter if it is helpful.

I am thankful for our school, its administration, and its faculty and remain firmly committed to reaching and teaching kids with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

God bless you,
Pastor Bill
