11/11/12 1:00 PM
I just spoke to Julie. The team is well, but VERY tired. The trip took quite a bit longer than anticipated. They expected 9 hours and it actually took over 11 hours. It is 10 PM (local) and everyone is headed to bed.
They were missing three footlockers when they arrived in Nairobi. Yesterday, they received two of the missing footlockers, but the third didn’t arrive. Fortunately, they were able to purchase additional supplies and reading glasses. They should be in good shape for the week ahead!
The accommodations in Kinango are pleasant. They may have sporadic Wi-Fi coverage, so we may hear from them (and maybe even some pictures) periodically. That would be a bonus, because last year, there was no contact with the team until the weekend.
I expect that the next time I hear from the team will be tomorrow at mid-day (if at all). Please keep them in your prayers and ask God for safety, rest, and to prepare the hearts of the people they will serve tomorrow.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7
God bless you and keep you.
